| Background Information:CD98 is a 125-kDa type II membrane glycoprotein heterodimer composed of a 40-kDa non-glycosylated light chain (amino-acid transporter, encoded by the SLC7A5) and an 85-kDa glycosylated heavy chain (CD98hc, encoded by the SLC3A2) (PMID: 11507094). CD98hc also interacts with certain integrin b-subunits to regulate cell migration, survival, proliferation, and adhesion/polarity. CD98hc is overexpressed on the cell surface of many cancers and increased CD98hc expression is associated with the development and progression of tumors.(PMID:25084765). Molecular orientation studies have demonstrated that the C-terminal tail of human CD98 (hCD98), which contains a PDZ-binding domain, is extracellular (PMID: 18625289). | Formulation::PBS, Azide7 |
