| Host / Isotype: Recombinant | Background Information: Interleukin-5 receptor subunit alpha (IL-5RA), also known as CD125, is a type I transmembrane protein that belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. IL-5RA is a critical component of the high-affinity IL-5 receptor complex, IL-5R, which consists of the alpha chain (IL-5RA) that specifically binds to IL-5 and the common beta chain (CD131) shared with receptors for IL-3 and GM-CSF (PMID: 1833065; 7872157). IL-5/IL-5RA signaling axis is crucial for the differentiation, proliferation, recruitment, and activation of eosinophils, and is also involved in pathological eosinophilia (PMID: 34638583). |
