| Host / Isotype: Recombinant | Background Information: MOSC domain-containing protein 2 (also known as MOSC2), also known as MARC2, is a component of prodrug-converting system, reduces a multitude of N-hydroxylated prodrugs particularly amidoximes, leading to increased drug bioavailability. Also, MOSC2 may be involved in mitochondrial N(omega)-hydroxy-L-arginine (NOHA) reduction, regulating endogenous nitric oxide levels and biosynthesis. The reductase activity is regulated under adipogenic conditions, and down-regulation of the terminal component MOSC2 resulted in decreased lipid synthesis, suggesting a possible physiological role of this enzyme system and its component MOSC2 in lipogenesis(PMID: 22203676). |
