| Host / Isotype: Mouse / IgG1 | Background Information: RNA helicases play important roles in transcription, RNA processing, translation, and RNA replication. DEAD box proteins are putative RNA helicases that have a characteristic Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD) box as 1 of 8 highly conserved sequence motifs. DHX9 a member of the DEAH family of proteins, which possess a double-stranded RNA-binding domain (dsRBD) and a helicase domain [PMID:20569003]. It unwinds double-stranded DNA and RNA in a 3' to 5' direction. Alteration of secondary structure of DHX9 may subsequently influence interactions with proteins or other nucleic acids. It is also a component of the CRD-mediated complex that promotes MYC mRNA stability. In addition, it is involved with LARP6 in the stabilization of type I collagen mRNAs for CO1A1 and CO1A2[PMID: 19029303, 22190748]. |
