| Background Information:IL-17C is a member of the IL-17 cytokine family, was cloned from a human fetal kidney library in 2000 (PMID: 10639155). The IL-17 family comprises at least 6 proinflammatory cytokines that share a conserved cystine-knot structure but diverge at the N-terminus. IL-17 family members are glycoproteins that induce local cytokine production and recruit granulocytes to sites of inflammation (PMID: 15485625; 11574464). IL-17C is selectively induced in epithelia by bacterial challenge and inflammatory stimuli (PMID: 21993848). IL-17RE is a receptor specific to IL-17C and has an essential role in host mucosal defense against infection (PMID: 21993849). | Formulation::PBS, Azide7 |
